How It Works
Two free calls, then one-week sprints until the system is yours.
- 1
Step 1
15-minute intro call ($0)
Tell us what eats your team's time. We'll tell you straight if AI can fix it.
- 2
Step 2
30-minute scope call ($0)
Deep dive on your problems. We pick the highest-ROI 2-week deliverable, explain the outcome, and send you a proposal.
- 3
Step 3
One-week sprints
A junior engineer builds, a senior engineer reviews. 30-minute weekly demo calls and 24/7 support.
- 4
Step 4
Handoff. You own it.
We hand you the finished system and train you on AI if you want. No licensing fees.

What we build
Bring us the manual workflow, disconnected system, or overdue internal tool. We will scope a useful first release and build from there.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does working with Automation Interns actually work?
Every engagement opens with two free calls: a 15-minute intro call to hear what eats your team's time, then a 30-minute scope call that ends with a written proposal for the highest-ROI two-week deliverable. Building runs in one-week sprints, and the finished system is handed over to you at the end. Read the full process
What do the first two calls cost?
Both opening calls are free. The 15-minute intro call is a straight answer on whether AI can fix the problem you describe. The 30-minute scope call goes deeper and produces a proposal naming the single highest-ROI two-week deliverable, and nothing is billed before you accept that proposal.
How quickly will I see working software?
Delivery runs in one-week sprints, so the first working piece of the system typically lands inside the first sprint rather than at the end of a long build. A 30-minute demo call every week shows you what was actually built, and support is available around the clock between demos.
Who writes the code, the intern or a senior engineer?
A junior engineer does the hands-on building and a senior engineer reviews the work before it reaches you. Architecture and scope are settled by the senior engineer during the scope call, so the junior engineer's sprint time goes into building rather than into guessing what the system should be.
What happens once the build is finished?
Handoff means your business owns the system outright. Automation Interns hand over the finished build, train your team on the AI tooling behind it if that is useful, and nothing stays running on our infrastructure or our subscriptions afterward.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No long-term commitment is required, though the minimum engagement is 40 hours. Work is scoped one sprint at a time and a business can stop after any sprint. The delivered system carries no licensing fees, so there is no recurring charge attached to keeping and running what was built.
What happens if an intern is not the right fit?
A replacement is arranged within 72 hours, no questions asked. Because a senior engineer scopes the work up front and reviews every sprint, fit problems tend to surface at the first weekly demo instead of months into a build.
Do you only serve businesses in Phoenix?
Automation Interns are based in Tempe and recruit from ASU, so Phoenix-metro businesses have the option of on-site work. Businesses anywhere in the United States are served remotely on the same one-week sprint schedule, with the same weekly demo calls and the same senior review. Read about the Phoenix service area
How do students apply, and what are they paid?
ASU students apply through the student application form and are placed on real client work matched to what they say they enjoy about technology, not only to what they already know. Students are paid minimum wage and are coached throughout by a senior engineer who reviews everything they ship. See details for students
